Sweet and Sour Red Cabbage
Ingredients

red cabbage sliced about 1/4" thick
(1-2 lbs.)

onion sliced

red apples cored and sliced
1/2
c.
dry red wine
1/4
c.
vinegar
1/4
c.
brown sugar
1
tsp
ground black pepper
Instructions
Mix all ingredients in a large sauce pan and cook covered over medium heat until cabbage is wilted and tender, about 45 minutes to an hour
As an option, you can fry 3-4 slices of diced thick style bacon and add to the cabbage.
