The Best Sauerkraut
Ingredients

lb
Sauerkraut, drained but not rinsed (bag or jar, not canned)
1
tsp
brown sugar
1
red apple cored and sliced thin (skin left on)
1
small
onion sliced thin
1
tsp
caraway seeds
1
potato, peeled and grated
1
c
water or dry white wine
Instructions
Mix all ingredients in a large fry pan and cook covered over medium low heat until hot and onion and apple are tender
Put bratwurst links on top of the sauerkraut as it is cooking. This will steam the brats and the drippings will give the sauerkraut a great flavor.
